Passenger numbers at Dubai International airport rose to a record 50.98 million in 2011. The airport has been boosted by the rapid expansion of Emirates and its creation of Dubai as a major tourism and business hub in the region.
Passenger numbers increased by 8% over the 47.2 million passengers recorded in 2010. In December passenger numbers reached 4.69 million, an increase of 10.2% compared to 4.26 million recorded in Dec 2010.
