Rajah and Taan has appointed Paul Ng as a partner to head the firm’s aviation practice in Singapore.
Prior to joining Rajah & Tann, Ng was a partner at Milbank in Singapore for nine years and led its aviation and asset finance practice in Asia. He also worked at Stephenson Harwood for five years and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as a partner for 11 years.
With 30 years of experience, Ng has counselled numerous aviation transactions, including some of the largest, most complex and innovative ones. He assisted the first insurance-backed financing for aircraft, as well as the first multi-tier Islamic financing for an acquisition in Asia.
Ng’s experience covers leasing and acquisition of aircraft, leasing maritime assets, rolling stock and other movable assets, tax-based finance, Islamic finance, IPOs, and export credit.
He has also established a solid client base including major investors, lenders, operating and finance lessors, borrowers, lessees/airlines and arrangers in a wide range of banking, finance and leasing transactions in Asia, Europe and the US.
