Qatar Airways recently took delivery of its 24th A350-1000 after a long delay due to surface degradation issues and a legal battle with Airbus. The aircraft is airline’s 58th A350 overall. The airframe is about three years old, after spending a lot of its pre-delivery time in storage while Airbus and Qatar Airways faced conflict over surface degradation issues.
The aircraft has the registration number A7-AOD and is assembled in 2020, completed nine test flights before delivery, accumulating over 13 hours in the air.
On Friday, July 21, the aircraft conducted its delivery flight from Toulouse, France (TLS) to Doha's Hamad International Airport.
The airline now has 58 A350s with 12 of them currently parked and is the second largest operator of A350s with the first being Singapore Airlines.
