Qatar Airways to expand US services

Qatar Airways plans to expand its services to the United States with flights to Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta from its Doha hub and a second daily flight to New York.

Delta Air Lines, United Continental and American Airlines are lobbying government to temporarily freeze new Gulf airline service to the United States, however, in the continuing row over alleged unfair state subsidies to the Middle Eastern carriers.

Qatar plans to use 777 aircraft on routes to Los Angeles and Atlanta, which will commence on Jan 1, 2016, and July 1, 2016 respectively; and an A350-900 XWB aircraft on its new Boston route due to start on March 16, 2016. The A350 will also be used on its planned second New York flight.
