Qatar Airways has increased its Doha to Sao Paulo capacity from double daily to 18 weekly flights starting December 1, 2023. It is scheduled to operate 18-weekly through the rest of the winter.
Qatar Airways' increase means that the airline will have triple daily flights four days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The airline plans to deploy its B777-300ER on the route.
Qatar Airways first started Sao Paulo flights in June 2010, almost three years after Emirates launched the Dubai-Sao-Paulo route. The distance between Sao Paulo and Doha is 11,858 km but the airline has to take a detour as Sudan airspace is closed due to the ongoing conflict, thus increasing the fuel and operating expenses for the Qatari carrier.
