Qatar Airways has installed its 30th aircraft with the Starlink high-speed internet solution, equipping over half of its 777 fleet. In addition, the airline has outpaced its original estimated timeline by 70%, the airline said on February 25, 2025.
Qatar had first installed the solution on its 777 fleet in October 2024.
The airline said it is “soaring ahead of competitors” with it cutting installation time of the solution per aircraft from two to three days down to 9.5 hours.
“In just four months since launching the world's first 777 Starlink-equipped flight, we have already installed this ground-breaking service on 30 aircraft — far exceeding our initial targets,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.
He added that internet solution is a “game-changer” for its passengers.
