Qantas takes delivery of its latest B787-9 Dreamliner after three-year delay

Qantas recently took delivery of its latest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, marking the delivery of its first new aircraft in over three-years. The aircraft took off from Everett Paine Field on April 29 and after a 16-hour flight landed at Melbourne Tullamarine International Airport.

The airline will mostly deploy the aircraft on the planned routes like Sydney-Sam Francisco or Auckland-New York.

The airline is expecting delivery of another couple of B787-9s this year.

The latest Dreamliner will resemble the rest of the 787-9 in Qantas fleet with 42 business class lie-flat bed seats, 28 seats in premium economy, and 166 back in economy.

Qantas aims to deploy the aircraft on international services, such as its latest discussion with Air France for the possibility of future direct flights between Perth International Airport (PER) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), in addition to its other European services touching down at London Heathrow (LHR) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO).
