Qantas has acquired charter airline Network Aviation for about $30 million. With the purchase, the airline hopes to tap into burgeoning demand from the mining industry for flights to remote sites in Western Australia.
Qantas plans to boost Network Aviation’s fleet of two 100-seat Fokker 100 aircraft and six 30-seat Embraers, most likely with two more Fokker 100s.
Network Aviation has annual revenue of about $30 million.
