Pratt & Whitney to establish technology innovation centre in the Netherlands

RTX's Pratt & Whitney plans to establish a European technology and innovation centre (ETIC) in the Netherlands, the company said on January 22, 2025. The ETIC will be dedicated to advancing technologies for enabling more energy efficient and sustainable aviation.

The centre will be co-located at RTX's Collins Aerospace's existing European innovation hub in Houten, Netherlands.

"Our new European Technology and Innovation Center will be a path to access the exceptional engineering talent and opportunities for collaboration both in the Netherlands and across Europe,” said Frank Preli, vice president, technology, Pratt & Whitney.

Preli said the centre will support the development of “cutting-edge technologies” for propulsion efficiency and reduced emissions in future aircraft.

The ETIC is expected to open in the middle of the year. The centre will open with an initial core staff of engineers and scientists with the capacity to expand the team depending on needs.
