Pratt & Whitney that it will expand its global network of GTF engine maintenance providers with the addition of Sanad Group to its GTF MRO network.
Sanad, wholly owned by Abu Dhabi's sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company, is an engineering and leasing solutions provider. Sanad's new facility is expected to be completed by 2028. The project was announced at IDEX 2025.
“We are building national champions in the aerospace sector, fostering a vibrant aerospace ecosystem, and partnering with world-class entities like Pratt & Whitney to accelerate the transformation of Abu Dhabi’s economy,” said Mubadala's UAE Investments Platform CEO Bakheet Al Katheeri.
Pratt & Whitney said the facility based in Al Ain will further strengthen the relationship between RTX and the United Arab Emirates. The facility will also be the first Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network member in the South Asia, Middle East, and North Africa region.
“As the GTF fleet continues to grow, and aftermarket demand along with it, we are expanding our global network with industry-leading MRO providers such as Sanad,” said Pratt & Whitney vice president of aftermarket Marc Meredith. “Sanad has been a service provider for the V2500 engine for more than a decade and will provide for the V2500 engine for more than a decade.”
Sanad's facility will service the PW1100G-JM and PW1500G engines for the A320neo and A220 aircraft families, respectively, as well as the PW1900G engine for the E2 jet.
“Establishing the GTF maintenance centre in Abu Dhabi will enable Sanad to provide high-quality MRO services on the latest technology engines, with the ability to service engines worldwide,” said Sanad managing director and CEO Mansoor Janahi.
The Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network includes 20 shops across four continents.
