Poland’s government has banned all international flights into the country with flag carrier LOT suspending all its services globally while a number of airlines have also ended flights central European state.
Wizz Air today announced that as a result of the travel restrictions imposed on all foreign flights announced by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki effective as of March 15, 2020, the airline has suspended all its flights to and from Poland until further notice.
Starting from 15 March 2020, no foreign citizens will be allowed to enter Poland, while Polish citizens arriving from abroad will be placed in quarantine.
In a statement Wizz Air said that cancelling all its Polish would affect 20% of its capacity but the firm said it had a strong balance sheet with €1.3bn of free cash that would enable it cope with the current challenging environment for airlines.
