Pobeda, the Russian budget airline and a subsidiary of Aeroflot, reports that during 2015, it earned 11 billion rubles ($150 million) in revenues with net profit worth 37 million rubles. The airline, which was created in 2014, was expected to make a loss of 1.5 billion rubles ($20 million).
The airline has credited its high fleet utilization for the positive result as well as lightening its aircraft to burn less fuel by removing all unnecessary equipment from the planes, such as ovens for heating food and trolleys.
