Pittsburgh International Airport to try out robot waiters

Pittsburgh International Airport is to sell robot-delivered drinks to volunteer passengers as part of a tie-up with Ottonomy, maker of the "fully autonomous" Ottobot.

Passengers who sign up for the trial run will be able to order and pick up beverages from the robots at designated drop-off points inside the terminal.

According to the manufacturers, the Ottobots offer a contactless delivery system, can "navigate autonomously through crowds and unpredictable environments" and have already been deployed "at multiple airports in the USA and Europe".
