TrueNoord has appointed Paul Murphy as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In the new role, Murphy will be responsible for fiscal reporting & analysis, tax, treasury operations and corporate finance.

Prior to joining TrueNoord, Murphy held senior finance roles with SMBC Aviation Capital, Goshawk Aviation and ORIX Aviation.

Welcoming Murphy onboard, Anne-Bart Tieleman, chief executive, TrueNoord said: “His longstanding experience managing financial operations in the aviation sector is an asset to our business.”

“I’m pleased to join TrueNoord at this key stage of the organisation’s evolution and look forward to seeking new and innovative ways to help scale up its platform and grow the business,” Murphy said commenting on his appointment. “Notwithstanding some macro headwinds, TrueNoord is exceptionally well placed to support the post-pandemic recovery of the regional aviation sector. Their balanced growth strategy is underpinned by a team of highly experienced sector specialists as well as supportive shareholders.”

Murphy further went on to explain that it was the reputation of TrueNoord’s robust and talented team along with their positive investor relations that attracted him to the role.

Murphy previously served as Head of Finance of Goshawk Aviation before its sale to SMBC Aviation Capital in December 2022. Part of the management team at Goshawk, he transformed the Finance and Managed Asset functions to support the growth of the business. Before this, he held senior finance positions at ORIX Aviation, initially working as Vice President - Finance, then holding the role of Director, Group Accounting & Treasury.

Murphy initially trained with KPMG and then went on to become an Audit Manager in their Financial Services Division, primarily working with clients in the aviation sector.

“Paul is a highly respected member of the aviation community with a reputation for team motivation and commercial success. We will benefit from his knowledge and experience as we continue on our journey, supporting our airline customers as they strive to connect people, communities and businesses across the world,” Tieleman added.
