Passenger tries to remove emergency exit covers aboard IndiGo flight

Just when airlines are dealing with unruly passenger behaviour onboard another incident has come to light aboard the IndiGo flight. A passenger tried to remove the cover of the emergency exit while the plane was still in the air. Thankfully, the aircraft landed without any incident, with all passengers safe.

The incident occurred on Mumbai-Nagpur flight on January 24, 2023 causing a panic alarm among other passengers, as (the) passenger reportedly tried to remove the emergency exit cover.

The incident occurred as the plane was landing. Upon noticing the person’s actions as suspicious, the pilot warned him.

“An FIR has been filed against the passenger for unauthorised tampering of the emergency exit as the aircraft was in the process of landing,” the airline said in a statement.

This is the second incident in two months involving passengers tampering with IndiGo aircraft’s emergency exit door.
