South Korean airline Parata Air has signed a comprehensive component support agreement with Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance. The airline will launch operations with a fleet of six A330ceo, all of which will be supported under a six-year power by the hour (PBH) components contract with AFI KLM E&M.
South Korea's Parata Air will launch its first operations at the end of September. This follows the issuance of its air operator certificate (AOC) by Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport earlier this month.
The airline will begin services from its base at Yangyang International Airport, with plans to gradually expand routes to Jeju Island. The airline will launch its website and ticket sales ahead of launching operations. The airline rebranded from Fly Gangwon after its acquisition by Winix — a Korean home appliance company — last year.
The fleet will expand to include four additional A320 aircraft.
This marks the first time a Korean airline has signed an Airbus fleet components contract with AFI KLM E&M.
