Operations at Israel’s Tel Aviv Ben Gurin airport disrupted due to political turmoil

Israel's Tel Aviv Ben Gurin International Airport has halted all outgoing flights as per the announcement made by the Israel Airport Authority. For the time being, aircraft are able to land at the airport. The airport operations are disrupted due to the general strike called by Israel’s national trade union center – Histadrut.

The changed flight schedule is expected to affect tens of thousands of travellers en route to different destinations.

Speaking to media, during the press conference, Arnon Bar-David, Chairman, Histadrut said: “Last night, all red lines were crossed.” He was referring to the sacking of Israel’s Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant. Gallant was let go by Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu on March 26, 2023.

Gallant spoke out against the juridical reforms in the country. He said that growing rift in society penetrates the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and the security bodies of Israel on a post on social media.
