Passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport rose 11% in March (to 557,000) and nearly 10% during the first three months of 2024, airport officials have revealed.
During the month, almost 516,000 passengers were domestic and over 41,000 constituted international traffic, increases of 8.3% and 66% respectively. Southwest Airlines took the greatest passenger share at the airport (37.7%), followed by American Airlines (16.3%) and Frontier Airlines (12.1%). Passenger totals calculated for the full year to date also saw a 6.4% rise in domestic and 74.7% rise in international travellers.
“The ongoing run of strong passenger increases, as well as new air service offerings recently announced by our airline partners, bodes well for the spring and summer travel seasons,” summarised Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority.
