Norwegian records strong July 2023, with 2.3 million passengers

Norwegian carried 2.3 million passengers recording a load factor of 92.4% in July 2023. The airline reported a peak in its capacity with 12% increase than July 2023.

“July was an outstanding month for Norwegian in terms of traffic figures. We have welcomed the highest number of passengers this year, over 100,000 more compared to July last year,” said Geir Karlsen, chief executive, Norwegian. “Our colleagues in the air and on the ground have worked relentlessly to make sure our passengers reached their destinations safely, and as smoothly as possible, despite a few challenging situations across airports in Europe.”

Norwegian had 2,308,417 passengers in July, up 5 per cent from July 2022. The capacity (ASK) was 3,712 million seat kilometres, while actual passenger traffic (RPK) was 3,430 million seat kilometres.

In July, Norwegian operated an average of 79 aircraft with 73.2% punctuality.

“The unstable weather in the Nordics this summer has clearly impacted travel patterns, and we notice continued strong bookings throughout the month,” added Karlsen. “I am very pleased to see that so many travellers choose to fly with us this summer, both domestically, within the Nordics and across Europe.”
