Norse Atlantic shifts Gatwick-Fort Lauderdale service to MIA

Norse Atlantic will be moving its recently launched Gatwick-Fort Lauderdale service to Miami International starting September 2023. The airline began direct flights connecting Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale a few days ago and already made plans to switch to Miami International airport.

Norse Atlantic Airways customers can book direct flights from Miami to London Gatwick from $209 one way including all taxes and from Miami to Oslo from $229.

The new route will launch on September 18, 2023 with four weekly flights for upcoming winter season. The Miami International Airport is both larger and closer to city downtown and Miami beach.

Passengers booked on flights between Gatwick and Fort Lauderdale beyond September 17 will be offered either a rebooking onto the Miami route or a full refund.

Earlier this month Norse announced plans to launch new Gatwick routes to Barbados, Kingston and Montego Bay this winter, adding to the airline’s existing winter 2023 network from Gatwick to New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Orlando and now Miami.

Commenting on the news Bjorn Tore Larsen, Chief Executive, Norse Atlantic Airways, said: “We are pleased to be able to now offer the popular destination of Miami as part of our winter route network. Miami has high levels of passenger demand with both direct and connecting traffic volumes greater than other airports in the region. We look forward to being able to offer our cargo customers increased choice and flexibility as we begin operations from our new South Florida base in September.”

Thrilled at choosing MIA for its south Florida flights, Ralph Cutié, Director and CEO, MIA said:  “ We look forward to welcoming their London Gatwick and Oslo service to Miami-Dade County, and to becoming their seventh destination in the US.”
