December figures from Norse Atlantic Airways indicate a strong year-on-year performance, with an average load factor of 71% rising 10 percentage points year-on-year. During this month, the low-cost Norwegian carrier flew over 79,000 passengers across 343 flights, 61% of which arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time.
CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways Bjorn Tore Larsen attributes this heightened demand to the holiday season, “while we continued our robust operational performance throughout the month with zero cancellations,” he explains. Norse also completed 22 charter flights during December, “which highlights the continued focus on the efficient use of [Norse’s] fleet during the quieter winter months,” he elaborates.
Looking to the year ahead, December also saw the sales of the New York to Athens route (with flights scheduled to commence in May 2024) alongside the first wave of flights running up to the end of the winter 2025 season. Although the frequencies of “certain low demand routes” have been reduced, forward bookings since January 1 2024 are currently 77% higher than the same period last year.
