In what it said was "an important day for the UK aviation industry", Norse Atlantic Airways announced on February 28 it would by late 2023 be flying to seven US destinations from London Gatwick.
Flights to Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco will launch between June 1 and July 1, with Boston to follow in September.
The carrier already flies to Fort Lauderdale/Miami, New York and Orlando
"We have made a significant investment in our UK airline, based at Gatwick Airport, and now employ over 370 colleagues at our London base. I am very pleased that we are fulfilling our pledge to create competition in the transatlantic market that will benefit consumers, stimulate business travel and lead to job creation on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Bjorn Tore Larsen, the chief executive.
