New hanger for MAJ Aviation

MAJ Aviation has broken ground at Seletar Aerospace Park, home of its new general aviation hangar and ancillary facility. The S$8 million 6,000 square metre facility will be completed by September 2011.

The centre will be the first centre in Singapore to cater to the maintenance, repair and overhaul needs of light, privately owned planes. It will also be able to park and display 12 to 14 light aircraft.

"We are seeing that today's facilities are lacking, and we also see Singapore getting more affluent, so we are seeing people with more disposable income coming to stay in Singapore, to work in Singapore, and some of them will have their weekend hobbies and therefore we will be expecting more private jets and private airplanes," says Khoo Beng Keat, managing director of MAJ Aviation.
