UK NATS Services, responsible for providing air traffic control services at many of the UK’s major airports (including civil and military sites) and overseas airports, has appointed a new airspace users director.
Richard Ellis, who will lead the team in ‘delivering services and technology-based products to customers around the world’ (including drones, eVTOL operations and the development of high-altitude solutions) joins NATS from Altitude Angel, where he held the position of chief business officer. Prior to that role, he was VP of worldwide customer services at AirMap, working with airspace management software systems for drones.
“Supporting the growth of new airspace users through the development of innovative products and services is one of our key strategic commercial proprieties,” noted Guy Adams, NATS managing services director: adding Ellis will have a “major contribution” to make in these areas.
