MYAirline, Malaysia’s latest start-up has signed a lease for 17 A320-200 additional aircraft and is planning to list the company on Malaysian stock exchange ‘Bursa Malaysia’ in the next three years, Rayner Teo, CEO, MYAirline said while speaking to Bernama news. However, he did not disclose any further details of the transaction.
“As any company with shareholders, there are plans to list the company, and we will try to list on Bursa as soon as we have the capabilities in three years,” Teo said.
Currently the airline operated a fleet of five A320-200 while the sixth aircraft is delayed.
“We are basically in narrow-body operations on the basis of a low-cost carrier, while focusing on short hauls. We are keeping to a range of four hours for the narrow-body, and we also keep to the single-family type aircraft,” Teo added.
The airline is planning to expand operations to neighbouring countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore with talks on with the regulatory authorities of these countries.
