Munich Airport's summer schedule sees return of key Asia routes

Munich Airport's summer schedule features "many new destinations" with Lufthansa adding Osaka and Mexico City to resumed routes to Shanghai and Beijing.

Air China will also start flying from Munich to the two Chinese cities, while ANA will offer flights to Tokyo.

"In Europe, there will be flights to Bordeaux in France and Rzeszow in southeast Poland again. For the first time, the airline will also fly to Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias region in northern Spain," the airport authority said in a statement.

Closer to home, the UK's easyJet will from June 28 fly from Munich to Naples, two days after Fly One opens a route to Chisinau, the Moldovan capital.

“With a large number of airlines and a wide variety of destinations in the upcoming summer flight schedule, we are well on track to return to our pre-crisis level and further enhance the appeal of our premium hub," said Jost Lammers, the airport's chief executive.
