Mott MacDonald launches Australian aviation strategy team

Mott MacDonald has set-up an aviation strategy team in Australia to service the Australasia and wider Asia-Pacific aviation markets. The eight-strong team, led by Ian Guy, is based in Melbourne and strengthens the consultancy’s position as one of the leading planning and technical strategy advisors in the world.

Ian joined Mott MacDonald five years ago after undertaking various roles at BAA. During his time with the consultancy, he has led major development programmes at both Heathrow and Hong Kong airports. He was also project director on the Mactan Cebu International Airport public-private partnership (PPP) scheme in the Philippines, which was recently named PPP Deal of the Year at the 2015 IJGlobal Asia Pacific Technical Advisor of the Year awards.

Chris Chalk, Mott MacDonald’s aviation global sector leader, said: “By deploying Ian and his new team in Australia we are able to provide further global knowledge and expertise to our clients in Asia-Pacific. This team will be supported by the full capabilities of Mott MacDonald’s worldwide aviation network, including existing regional teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.”

“Every airport wants to get the most out of their assets and we are here to provide them with market-leading support to enable them to do just that, whether this is by growing revenues, optimising operations or expanding capacity. Large or small, we are proud to help airports optimise their business plan and work with them to realise their development objectives by utilising our broad base of skills,” Chris added.

The new team has already been commissioned to deliver a number of Australian based projects, focusing on core areas such as airport planning, project management, transaction advisory and capital investment planning and delivery.
