Morten Beyer dies aged 88

Morten S Beyer died on October 21, 2010 in Washington DC. He was 88. Beyer was a pioneer in the aviation industry and his career spanned more than 65 years commencing in 1943 when he started work with Pan Am Airways. He served in senior management positions with airlines such as Saudi Arabian Airlines, Riddle Airlines, Capital Airlines, and finally as president of four airlines including Modern air, Capital International, Phoenix Airlines, and Evergreen Airlines. But he was probably best known as one of the premier appraisers and the president of Avmark Consulting. He was one of the founders of ISTAT and most recently served as the senior partner of Morten Beyer & Agnew until his retirement in 2005. This year he published his memoirs in a book called Flying Higher.
