Aerospace system component and complex assemblies manufacturer Montana Aerospace has announced its commitment to the international Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), reaffirming its intention to support sustainability strategies.

Confirming Montana Aerospace’s adoption of the Near-Term and Net-Zero targets of the SBTi, group HRO and ESG responsible Vicky Welvaert said, "achieving our targets and the associated commitment to the SBTi are key levels of our sustainability activities”, concluding that “having a concrete strategy for the coming months and years and clearly defined targets is an important step in the right direction”.

The SBTi, which helps companies set corporate emissions reduction targets (before independently verifying and validating them) is a result of a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Montana Aerospace’s expanding environmental priorities now include adopting energy-efficient production technologies, an expansion on internal aluminium recycling capabilities, a reduction of natural gas consumption and increased use of renewable energies.
