Monarch announces new deal with MAG

Monarch has announced a new five year commercial agreement with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which includes a long-term commitment to East Midlands Airport.

Monarch flies to eight holiday destinations from East Midlands but management intends the services to grow since Flybe has announced its exit from the airport.

Executive chairman Iain Rawlinson said: "This agreement with MAG will help us grow the number of customers we carry and the support services we offer at East Midlands.

"As we expand our network, we are confident that the combination of superior customer experience and value that we offer will attract more customers to Monarch.

"As part of our determination to put people first, all our employees at East Midlands will shortly be enrolled in a training programme to help us deliver an exceptional service when travelling from here." Ken O'Toole, chief commercial officer for MAG, said: "Monarch Airlines is an extremely important carrier for our business and we're delighted by this long-term agreement, which underlines the airline's ability and ambition to grow further.
