Global helicopter lessor The Milestone Aviation Group has signed an agreement with Danish and UK helicopter operator UNI-FLY for there Leonardo AW169 helicopters.
The transaction includes the extension of two AW169s and the placement of an additional airframe, scheduled to be delivered in late 2023, all of which will be located at UNI-FLY’s main UK operating base at Humberside Airport. From here, they will support offshore energy missions in the North Sea.
“We are seeing strong demand for Light Twin helicopters in the renewable energy sector,” highlighted Sebastian Moulin, head of Europe and Americas at Milestone Aviation adding that “the AWE169 is well-suited to supporting offshore wind projects thanks to its advanced capabilities in challenging environmental conditions”.
In total, UNI-FLY has placed four AW169 aircraft with Milestone since 2018.
