Low-cost carrier Ryanair announced on December 8 that chief executive Michael O'Leary's contract would be extended from 2024 to 2028.
Chairman Stan McCarthy said O'Leary would be tasked with expanding passenger numbers to 225 million a year and developing, in tandem with the airline's board, the company's strategy to 2030.
McCarthy said O'Leary's extended tenure would be "subject to the adoption of an amended remuneration policy which will be tabled at Ryanair’s 2023 AGM”.
The airline also announced the nomination to its board of Anne Nolan, formerly chief executive of the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association, who will work in a non-executive role.
