Menzies Aviation has been given a ground handling licence by Aéroports de Montréal for Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL), where it already provides cargo handling.
“Adding ground handling at Montreal to our network is a fantastic milestone for our team, who have worked diligently to secure the licence. The team is now focused on expanding our operations at YUL beyond cargo and they are already working on sourcing ground service equipment and recruiting a new team, who will receive industry-leading training and competitive salaries and benefits," said John Redmond, executive vice president Americas.
Menzies said it won the bid due to its "best-in-class safety, operational performance, environmental, financial and investment track record" and will by summer 2023 offer a "full suite of ground services" at YUL, which it said would include ramp, passenger and cabin cleaning services.
Menzies operates in 16 Canadian airports, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Vancouver International Airport (YVR), the two biggest.
