Menzies Aviation appoints Kim Yan as VP at New York JFK

Menzies Aviation has appointed Kim Yan as VP of ground handling operations at the New Terminal One (NTO) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

Kim’s appointment follows the award of a ground handling license at NTO to Menzies Aviation, which was confirmed early this month.

From 2026, Menzies Aviation will deliver above- and below-wing services at JFK, including ramp handling and baggage, cabin cleaning, passenger services, ticketing, porter and passenger assistance.

Kim brings more than 30 years’ experience in the North American aviation sector to the role.

He started his career as a passenger services agent before progressing through a range of operational and management roles, giving him a deep understanding of both frontline and strategic airport operations, the company said.

A New York native, Kim joins Menzies Aviation following senior positions with Swissport and WFS, most recently serving as VP of New York airports at Swissport.

In his new role, Kim will lead the start-up and ongoing operations at NTO for Menzies, with a focus on safety, operational performance, workplace culture and financial discipline.

Menzies now operates at more than 350 locations globally.
