Malaysian Airline System (MAS) flew 1.3 million passengers during March 2013, a 19% year-on-year increase. The growth was bolster by a 24.8% increase in international traffic at 847,000, while domestic traffic also increased by 9.7% to 462,000. Passenger load factor rose almost four percentage points to 78.9%. On domestic flights load factor rose by one percentage point to 70.4%, while international flights rose 4.2% to reach a load factor of 79.9%.
Cargo traffic (FTKs) was up 6.6%. Belly freight dipped 1.4%, while freighter rose by 20.8%. Overall cargo load factor dipped by 1.4% to 71.2%. Belly load factor dropped 2.7% to72.8% during the period, while freighter load factor rose by one percentage point to 69%.
