Maple Leaf to Big Apple: Air Canada announces new routes into New York JFK

Air Canada said on December 8 that would operate three new US routes in summer 2023, connecting Montreal and Toronto with New York and adding Sacramento to its ex-Toronto destinations.

The flag carrier said it would also restore 11 cross-border routes that were nixed during pandemic lockdowns and border closures, which included Vancouver-Boston and Calgary-Los Angeles connections. Around a dozen other Canada-US routes that already resumed would be expanded, Air Canada said.

"We will operate more than 400 daily flights [to the US] on 95 routes to 47 destinations", said chief executive Mark Galardo.

Air Canada said the addition of flights into John F. Kennedy Airport from Montreal and Toronto would "cement" its position as the biggest non-US carrier flying into New York, where it also serves Le Guardia and Newark.
