Malaysia Aviation Group has reorganised MAB Engineering Services (MABES) into a wholly owned subsidiary. The Group will be restricted into three divisions namely airlines, aviation services and loyalty and travel solutions.
The aviation services division will look after MABES.
Aviation services is responsible for overseeing the group's cargo, training, ground handling, and MRO operations. In addition to providing aircraft line and base maintenance to its own fleet, MABES wants to increase its third-party MRO operations.
Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of MAG said: “With new capacity, capabilities, and services, the reorganisation of MABES will allow us to compete effectively in the third-party MRO market and lead the growth of the MRO business in Malaysia.”
MAG owns and operates Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Amal by Malaysia Airlines, and MASwings.
MABES holds 21 regulatory certifications covering Malaysia and other jurisdictions and is looking to expand its production lines in the next two years.
