China Southern Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have agreed an exclusive eight-year contract regarding technical support for auxiliary power units (APUs) aboard the Chinese carrier’s A350 fleet. The airline currently operates 20 A350s.
Lufthansa Technik is APU manufacturer Honeywell’s official warranty station and maintenance partner, granted approval to provide MRO services on the HGT1700 APU type (built exclusively for the A350). “Auxiliary power units are complex technical assets,” explained Dennis Kohr, senior vice president of corporate sales, Asia Pacific, for Lufthansa Technik. “Having previously delivered exceptional services on engines and components has given China Southern Airlines the assurance that they can also rely on us in this field”.
“With a long history of collaboration spanning over more than a decade covering various products and services, we are confident in entrusting Lufthansa Technik with this long-term contract,” added Wu Rongxin, executive vice president of China Southern Airlines.
