Oman Air and Lufthansa Technik have signed a base maintenance contract for Oman Air's fifteen Boeing 737NG aircraft. The C-checks include ACARS (Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System) modifications for nine of these aircraft. The checks and modifications will take place at the Lufthansa Technik base maintenance location in Budapest, Hungary.
Peter Hill, CEO of Oman Air, stated: "We have been very satisfied with the base maintenance work Lufthansa Technik delivered to us in 2010. It is therefore not surprising that we would trust Lufthansa Technik to deliver the same quality and level of service once again. This new contract will help us to raise and maintain our renowned on time performance and high product standards throughout our fleet and routes."
Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales of Lufthansa Technik, added: "This new contract is the latest milestone in the deep and long-lasting partnership between Oman Air and Lufthansa Technik. We are looking forward to further increases in cooperation between Lufthansa Technik and Oman Air, one of our most important customers in the region."
This new base maintenance contract comes at the heels of a successful completion of a similar C-Check program in 2010 for the same aircraft fleet. Besides the recurring base maintenance contract, Oman Air also receives complete component support for its entire A330 fleet of aircraft. Additionally, both companies are in talks for a much wider cooperation in the region on the back of an LOI for a strategic cooperation agreement executed at the Dubai Airshow in 2009.
