Lufthansa plans to resume pre-pandemic capacity to India this summer

Lufthansa is all set to resume its pre-pandemic capacity to India this summer with strong demand anticipated from Indian subcontinent. Lufthansa predicted that even though the overall airline recovery will reach pre-pandemic capacity by 2025, India’s recovery will be much faster thanks to the growing passenger demands.

Lufthansa and Swiss will jointly serve 56 weekly flights to India this summer, making it the largest airline group between India and Europe.

Going ahead, the airline also plans on resuming its services to Hyderabad and increased connectivity with Bangaluru. The airline might deploy its superjumbo A380 to certain select destinations in India. Besides the superjumbo, the airline could deploy its Boeing 787s with new business class offering and A350s with new first class. Currently Lufthansa operates its A350 on Mumbai route.
