Lufthansa intends to retire its last remaining seven 737-300s in October, ending 48 years of continuous 737 operations at the airline. The Lufthansa group will reduce the number of aircraft types across all airlines with the BAE Systems Avro RJ and Fokker 100 & 70 aircraft all going from the Swiss and Austrian Airlines fleets, respectively.
