Lufthansa Group, Ryanair extends cancellations in Middle East as tensions escalate
Lufthansa Group and Ryanair have adjusted their services to the Middle East again as tensions in the region continue to escalate. Lufthansa has suspended all of its flights to Tel Aviv until August 26, 2024. Ryanair said it has ""been forced to cancel"" flights to and from the Israel city until September 30, 2024, due to ""operational restrictions"" beyond its control. In addition, Lufthansa has cancelled all flights to Amman, Beirut, Erbil, and Teheran until August 26, 2024. On a separate note, Ryanair added on August 20, 2024, that 14% of its ""first wave departures"" were delayed on the day due to European air traffic control (ATC) staff shortages. It said the flight delays and the staff shortages are ""unacceptable"".
