The Lufthansa Group achieved its target of 25% female managers in the first quarter of 2025.
The group had committed to the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) “25by2025” target to improve diversity, equality and inclusion in the aviation industry. The goal, set by IATA six years ago, aims to improve diversity, equality and inclusion in the aviation industry.
“We are delighted to have increased the proportion of women in management positions across the group to over 25%,” said Deutsche Lufthansa member of the executive board responsible for human resources & legal affairs Michael Niggemann. "Admittedly, this is still too little - the steps are sometimes small and somewhat laborious, but that is precisely why they are particularly important and necessary.
“The goal is and remains sustainable development without gender discrimination. We are particularly proud of the impressive growth in the field of technology. We will now continue to consistently pursue the path we have taken - through talent promotion programs and guidelines on the visibility of female candidates in the application process.”
The proportion of female managers in the three top management levels below the executive board in the Lufthansa Group is 25.3%. The group has launched a global programme for women in management positions.
