LOT Polish Airlines has signed a lease agreement for two 787-8 Dreamliners with DP Aircraft.
The aircraft are set for delivery in 2026 on a 12-year lease term. The rental payments are structured with a fixed monthly rate for the first eight years, followed by a reduced fixed monthly rate for the final four years. DP Aircraft said rental payments will amount to approximately $168 million over the full term.
“The group is actively exploring all refinancing options, including potential agreements with new lenders, and has already received several indicative proposals,” said DP Aircraft. “The board will be evaluating these proposals as top priority in the coming weeks.”
The aircraft are currently on lease to Thai Airways, which is scheduled to end in 2026. With this agreement, DP Aircraft's UK subsidiary will soon confirm to Thai it will cancel any extension of the existing leases beyond 2026. Thai will be required to return the aircraft in full-life condition at the end of the respective lease period in October and December 2026. The aircraft will be approximately 12 years old by the end of their respective lease periods.
The company said the aircraft “remain highly attractive” with ongoing supply chain issues and widebody production lagging behind.
LOT Polish Airlines also launched a new route from Krakow to Paris-Orly on March 31, 2025. The route will operate six times per week before moving to daily flights all year long from April 14.
The route will be operated by the airline's 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
