Aeroflot receives certificate to operate 777
6th February 2013
Three easyJet flights have been delayed from destinations in Egypt due to a dispute over fuel. Passengers were originally told the aircraft couldn’t be refuled as the airline had not paid its bill to the local supplier; easyJet however stated the delay was because the airport had run out of fuel. Passengers on three flights had to be accommodated overnight until the problem was resolved and the flights rescheduled.
In a statement, easyJet confirmed that they don’t have an outstanding invoice with the fuel company and will be immediately changing suppliers due to the disruption. The airline indicated that they were not the only airline to have experienced similar problems in the region and that it had raised the issue with the Egyptian authorities.
