London Luton Airport has partnered with AeroCloud, implementing its common use passenger processing system (CUPPS). The cloud-based, hardware-agnostic system will enhance the airport's operational efficiency and flexibility, as well as improving the passenger experience overall.
AeroCloud said the airport's legacy systems were “struggling to support” the increasing passenger volumes and its expansion goals. The new solution from AeroCloud will support this growth. Luton had initiated a tender in late 2023 to replace its outdated common use system without disrupting daily operations. The company said CUPPS was the “ideal choice” for its updated systems.
Luton said the system will reduce operational and capital expenditure as well as reducing hardware and peripheral dependency. CUPPS will also optimise space in the airport.
“Our recent success at London Luton Airport is a huge milestone for our business, and a big statement to the airport community across Europe,” said AeroCloud CEO and founder George Richardson. “By replacing outdated legacy systems with our best-in-class passenger processing platform, London Luton Airport has shown that even an airport of this scale can make a seamless transition to modern technology.”
The technology allows for airlines, ground handlers, and other stakeholders to collaborate using shared technology and integrated applications.
