Over 5.4 million passengers travelled through Heathrow in January 2023 in what the airport said was "the busiest start of the year since 2020".
The airport claimed "overall passenger satisfaction" to be "at or above pre-pandemic levels" due to figures showing 98% of passengers "waited less than 10 minutes for security".
The airport said in turn that it was "delighted to once again be named Travel Weekly’s Best UK Airport".
The airport lauded January announcements by British Airways and Virgin Atlantic that they would resume flying to China.
Ahead of around 3,000 airport workers voting on going on strike over pay at Easter, the airport said the UK Border Force had "successfully managed" a recent smaller strike.
“Heathrow is back to its best, with passenger satisfaction scores meeting or exceeding 2019 levels. We are giving a warm welcome to families over the half term getaway by delivering excellent service and bringing back the magic of travel,"
said chief executive John Holland-Kaye, who announced his resignation in January.
