Lithuanian Airports seeking catering service providers, appoints new head of operations
Lithuanian Airports is aiming to attract catering service operators of ""various formats"" to operate at its Vilnius Airport through an international lease tender. The future partner will operate both in the new departures terminal, scheduled to commence operations in February 2025, and in other terminal locations at the capital's airport. The lease competition includes six locations for operator which is managing various concepts and brands. ""We must prepare to ensure that our passengers can find suitable catering services, choosing from a wide range,"" said Lithuanian Airports head of the commercial department Gintare Norvilaite-Tauteviciene. ""An important emphasis is that we are putting a lot of effort into attracting the attention of international companies in this and future competitions."" Lithuanian Airports had also appointed Valdas Stropus as its new chief operations officer who has spent the past nine years as its head of safety and compliance. ""I am well aware of the major qualitative changes that have been and will be taking place in our airports in recent years, and I will strive to ensure that the airport operations area is well prepared for this context,"" said Stropus. Vilnius Airport is set to launch its new terminal in early 2025.
