LAX to get STARLUX flights from Taipei

The first trans-Pacific US-bound STARLUX flight is to land at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on April 26.

The five-times-a-week route from Taipei "is expected to ramp [up] to daily in June", the luxury carrier said, announcing that it is to be the official international airline for the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team and would open an office in the city.

“With Los Angeles being the sister city of Taipei, along with our partnership with the LA Clippers, the city of angels is our airline’s perfect starting US destination," said chief executive Glenn Chai, whose airline flies to 15 Asian destinations.

"We’re thrilled to partner with STARLUX Airlines to celebrate their new flight route to Los Angeles, and work together to reach new global audiences,” said Scott Sonnenberg, LA Clippers' chief global partnerships officer.
