LATAM Airlines is all set to expand its international connectivity within its network with the resumption of weekly services between Lima, Peru, and Havana, Cuba, subject to government approval. With this Havana will be LATAM’s fifth destination in the Caribbean. The airline plans to resume the routes starting October 29, 2023.

The airline suspended these routes in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic.

Aline Mafra, director, sales and marketing, LATAM Brasil said: “No other airline connects Brazil to the world in this way, integrated into a network of more than 140 destinations. Around here, we are very happy to announce another destination in the Caribbean that connects with our flights leaving the country. Surely many Brazilians will consider this novelty for their next vacation.”

The route will be operated every week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday on an Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft.

LATAM’s A319s are configured to accommodate 138 passengers, 12 seats in premium economy and the remaining 138 in economy while the A320s seat a total of 174 passengers, with 12 premium economy seats and 162 seats in the economy class.

“The Lima-Havana route will once again operate in connection with the São Paulo/Guarulhos-Lima flights, resulting in a total trip of 13 hours for Brazilians looking to visit the Caribbean Island,” the airline said in a statement.

In the international market, LATAM is the airline that most connects Brazil with the world and the world with Brazil, currently accounting for more than 60% of passengers on international flights in Brazil, according to ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency).
